The journey to Mount Kailash is an important pilgrimage for millions of Hindus and Buddhists, in addition to Jains and also to Bonpos. It is said that one circuit of the sacred Mount Kailash known as Kailash Kora is sufficient to wipe out all the sins of your lifetime. Bathing in the icy sapphire waters of Lake Mansarover at the mountain’s base is said to remove the sins of innumerable lifetimes. The route takes you over a high pass – the Droma La providing grand views on both sides of the valley. The Gauri Kund, a glacial lake on the kora route is considered to be very holy. In ancient period, it took years for the sages and saints to reach Mount Kailash for salvation (moksha) and above that it was inaccessible for common people because of its geological location. Thanks to modern transport system, the path to salvation is no longer an isolated dream. The trip begins with a scenic drive to Zhangmu in Tibet crossing Nepalese border. After Zhangmu comfortable Japanese Land Cruisers will take you to the holy Lake Mansarovar and Mount Kailash for the pilgrimage circuit. You will be blessed with holy bath and parikrama to achieve your ultimate spiritual goal before returning to Kathmandu.
